Hi, how are you?

“Hi, how are you?” is how I’ve started every interaction with a stranger while I’ve been in South Africa. I was taught early on that it’s impolite to not ask how you are, so you always lead with that, otherwise you won’t get anywhere. Who knew. It seems to be similar to the English “You alright?”, but to be honest, I never use that as a casual greeting because if I ask it, I am genuinely asking.

Anyway, this post is mostly a test because I’m trying to figure out this website thing on my own and I’m not there yet. I will add a picture or two below and then see where this post ends up. I think I’ve just realised that I should be differentiating between blog posts and pages. Oops.

The picture below is me a week or two ago when I met elephants! It was freaking incredible. I was awestruck to be honest. They are just so majestic and intelligent. I even licked one hahaha.

And then here’s a video of a family of giraffes. They are also just incredible.
